It is as if the editors were thinking that famous comedian warrant a single movie to represent them because their movies in general do not qualify for the standards of the book. It pisses me off, but I have also come to terms with it. At least the ones they pick are actually good.
TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746502363551524682.post-71009592237280826042012-12-06T08:44:34.504+02:002012-12-06T08:44:34.504+02:00Just to flaunt my total ignorance I have to say th...Just to flaunt my total ignorance I have to say that Lucille Ball is new to me as well. I'm pretty sure this movie is in the book because of Lucille Ball. I've noticed that the book seems to have picked a representative movie for a number of comedic acts, whether it was Ball, Bob Hope, Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd, or others. It's the directors that they go crazy over, placing several movies from the ones that they like, no matter how little they differ from other selections from the same directors.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746502363551524682.post-584340561833706542012-12-06T02:48:32.148+02:002012-12-06T02:48:32.148+02:00Agreed. There's not anything world-shaking in this film, but it's a fun watch, and an interesting look at an early feminist film.

For those of slightly before my time (and a little bit into my time) who remember Lucille Ball as the ditzy redhead on television, seeing her in a role like this one really is something of a revelation, though.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746502363551524682.post-32807094093482950212012-12-06T01:21:20.418+02:002012-12-06T01:21:20.418+02:00Maureen O'Hara is always enjoyable.
